HSRI DIGITAL COMPUTER PROGRAMS FOR SEMI-EMPIRICAL TIRE MODELS
This document describes a set of five tire model computer programs which compute longitudinal and lateral traction forces and aligning moment developed by a pneumatic tire on a specific road surface. The preparation of input data for the tire models is discussed and a program for computing frictional performance data, from on-the-road traction measurements, is presented. Example computations are included. The theory behind the tire models programmed in this document is described in Interim Document 6, 'A Comparative Evaluation of Five Tire Traction Models,' UM-HSRI-PF-74-2 (NTIS order No. PB-229 707). These tire model programs supersede the programs described in Appendix 4 of Interim Document 6.
