CHARLOTTE USAC PROJECT: THE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE INVENTORY MODULE DESIGN SPECIFICATION
The report, one of a series of systems design documents, describes the Traffic Control Device Inventory Module for the city of Charlotte. The module provides municipal governments with a system for maintaining an inventory, by location, of all traffic control devices and pavement markings within the municipality, and provides for the on-line storage and retrieval of inventory and associated maintenance data through utilization of the street segment portion of the geographic data index file. The principal objective of the module is to provide information to the Traffic Control Division for the purposes of scheduling the installation of new control devices, scheduling the replacement or maintenance of existing devices, scheduling maintenance activities concerned with pavement markings.
