HEAD-ON TEST OF CABLE GUARDRAIL (MHD STANDARD PLATE NO. 8330B)
The study contains information on the performance of the Minnesota wood-post triple cable guardrail under the head-on impact test conditions of 60 mph and 5 degrees using a 4500 pound automobile. The average vehicle longitudinal deceleration level was well below the current acceptable level of 12 g's for a lap belted or lap and shoulder belted occupant.
