SOCIOECONOMIC AND TRAVELING CHARACTERISTICS OF DIAL-A-RIDE USERS
Ten socioeconomic characteristics of the average daily users of the Dial-A-Ride system in Haddonfield, New Jersey have been obtained and compared with the characteristics of the residents of the entire service area. Five questions were asked on the trip characteristics, including frequency of Dial-A-Ride use during the week and weekend, trip purpose, trip distance, and the usual means of transportation. Ratings and rankings of seven Dial-A-Ride system characteristics were obtained using a seven-part semantic scale. This information was obtained by means of two 1973 on-board surveys.
