VESSEL TRAFFIC SYSTEM SIMULATOR/SIMULATION CONCEPT FORMULATION STUDY
The study was performed in order to develop a concept definition for a VTS Simulator/Simulation Facility. The primary methodology employed was functional analysis. The total VTS Simulation/Simulator system architecture and the subsystem architecture for the manual, console, automation and data subsystems were established. Specifications for the VTS simulator/simulation facility were defined in terms of software, hardware, and personnel requirements. In addition the tabulation of simulator data input requirements and functional analysis of the VTS information flow have been included for future reference. The concept for the VTS simulator/simulation facility as defined in this study appears to have considerable utility as an aid in the development of equipments and procedures required for the establishment of operational VTS sites.
