Increasing the level of detail of the macroscopic national model for regional application

The article presents a pilot example of increasing the detail and meaning of the Slovak national model through the transport model of the Žilina region, which has fundamental international importance in terms of transport infrastructure. The model uses data from SIM card signal tracing of mobile phones for calibration. The article presents model creation tools and possibilities of their application for extension and refinement of the national model and possibilities of its regional needs. The main contribution of the Žilina region transport model is the creation of 18 transport development scenarios in a 30-year forecast. The output is a summary of the proposed measures in the transport infrastructure in connection with the strategic steps of the state. The conclusion of the article described also the possibility of using available databases of structural quantities for relevant evaluation of population mobility and the creation of a transport model. A transport strategy for the Žilina region was designed using the transport model.
