MANUAL OF TRAFFIC STUDIES FOR MARINE CONTAINER TERMINALS
This manual is intended as a guide for personnel of port authorities, terminal operators, and local government planning agencies concerned with traffic analysis of motor vehicles, including trucks and trailers, entering and leaving marine container terminals. This manual: a. identifies the traffic problems associated with movements of containers into and out of marine container terminals. b. indicates where traffic analyses would be useful in helping to solve these traffic problems. c. defines the minimum information and data elements required in various traffic studies. d. outlines in sufficient detail some of the more basic procedures, forms, and methods for conducting traffic analyses.
