Acquisition, Processing, and Formatting Software Matlab Code [supporting dataset]

This software collects position-sensing data from a 20cm rotary encoder wheel. It was created and it runs on MATLAB/Simulink, R2022A on an ordinary desktop Windows-based computer. The authors purchased a hardware platform and multiplexer from Speedgoat, LLC to support this software. At regular settable intervals, it queries the sensor and then it receives and records the resulting data. This data serves as feedback for the rotor position, velocity, and torque controls. The software also formats and displays the data on a typical desktop monitor in real time. This complete software is the first of four groups of feedback data collection routines necessary for control and stabilization of the shaftless flywheel for energy storage.
