FIBRE-REINFORCED CEMENT COMPOSITES
This report has been produced by the materials technology division of the concrete society The report reviews information collected by a working party on the use of reinforcing fibers in cement-based material systems; on the use of additives with portland cement in order to achieve greater compatibility between the matrix and the reinforcing fiber system; on the fiber-reinforced cement-based systems (physical and mechanical properties and possible applications to the building and construction industry. In addition, the theoretical considerations and requirements of the composite matrix-fiber systems are reviewed, the practicality of certain specific applications are analysed, recommendations are made in relation to further research and developments in fiber-reinforced cement-based systems, and comments are made on production technology. /TRRL/
