CONCRETE AGGREGATE IN NEW ZEALAND
The availability in New Zealand of aggregates suitable for use in concrete is considered, and criteria governing the choice of aggregate are discussed. The New Zealand standard for concrete aggregate is reviewed and attention is drawn to new features incorporated in a current draft revision of the old standard. Special mention is made of the proposal to replace sand grading requirements with the sand flow test. Lightweight aggregates are dealt with, and it is recommended that a technical advisory committee be formed to coordinate research on aggregates. /TRRL/
