THE COLOUR OF UNPIGMENTED CONCRETE. A STUDY OF TWO FACTORS AFFECTING THE COLOUR OF UNPIGMENTED CONCRETE COMMISSIONED BY THE MINISTRY OF PUBLIC BUILDINGS AND WORKS FROM JOHN LAING R AND D, LIMITED
This report assesses the influence on concrete appearance of variations in the consituents and mix proportions, of placing, curing and stripping methods and of weathering. The effects of the following parameters in particular on colour have been partly examined. Cement - type, fineness, particle size distribution. Aggregate - petrological type of fine aggregate, size and grading, silt content, water/cement ratio, aggregate/cement ratio, degree of compaction, influence of pressure on fresh concrete, age at demoulding, curing conditions, weathering, effect of rain-wetting, viewing conditions. /TRRL/
