SPECIFICATION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF ROAD TRAFFIC SIGNS AND INTERNALLY ILLUMINATED BOLLARDS. PART 4: ROAD STUDS
This metric revision of the standard incorporates new features resulting from experience and the advent of new materials and construction methods. After defining the scope and terms used in the standard, requirements are given for materials to be used in the construction of both reflective and non-reflective road studs and also for their construction. Details are given of the type testing and the production testing required and also of the method of marking. Appendix A gives sampling procedures and includes a table listing the tests and number of studs required for each. Appendices B-H give details of tests for the following: - colour, reflectivity, accelerated wear, corrosion resistance, resilience, adhesives for both bonded studs and bonding studs, shear strength, skinning and storage stability; Appendix J gives details of the performance testing of studs uner traffic and Appendix K gives recommendations for the installation of bonded studs including preparation of the road surface, installation of the stud and method of using the adhesive. /TRRL/
