STABILISED CEMENT FLY ASH ROAD AT RUGELEY GENERATING STATION
This report describes the construction of the approach roads to Rugeley generating station, in which cement and fly ash were utilised as soil stabilising agents. The propostions used were 10% fly ash and 5% cement, by weight, added to the soil and compacted to form a 6 in. road base. After rolling, the surface was sprayed with bituminous emulsion and coated with a 2.3/8 in thick tarmacadam layer. The total cost of the 20 ft. wide road was 1 5/10d per square yard, including kerbs.
