Simulation Study on a Freeway Climbing Lane
Since the influence of a moving bottleneck varies with time and space, a climbing lane is proposed to alleviate it based on the effect law of trucks. The north section of Beijing-Zhuhai Freeway in Guangdong Province of China is selected as the experiment site. A Corsim model in TSIS which has been calibrated is used, and a cost-effectiveness graph is chosen to analyze the investment effect under conditions of different volumes and percentages of trucks.
