Study on the Preventive Maintenance Time for Asphalt Pavement
In recent years, how to prevent and delay the emergence of distresses in high-grade highway has been paid great attention by the highway worker. However, we usually carry out the maintenance and repair after the roads are broken, it is easier to identify and determine the timing of maintenance and repair, but the preventive maintenance is that taking measures when the road is still in good condition, which makes pavement preventive maintenance face a difficult issue, that is, the timing of the preventive maintenance? (Yu, 1993) Before carrying out the preventive maintenance, the trend of the pavement damage must be made clear; because the asphalt pavement structure is always under the circulating effect of traffic and temperature loads, and its destruction is mainly fatigue failure. In this paper, the timing of preventive maintenance in asphalt pavements is put forward based on fatigue failure.
