NOTES ON GRADIENT AND STOPPING DISTANCE

This report considers road gradients and vehicle stopping distances with a view to establishing appropriate specification limits to be later incorporated in geometric design standards. It looks for rational criteria, reports some relevant accident information and compares the treatment of these topics in the geometric design standards of other countries. /TRRL/
