SPICA ELECTROINJECTOR: A FAST OPERATING ACTUATOR FOR USE IN ENGINE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEMS
This paper describes the general field of study and setting up production of a fast operating solenoid injector, which is of low cost and high versatility and which enables a new design of electronic engine control system to be produced. Fast operating times allow the use of several control strategies, particularly in connection with injection frequency and timing. The injector's design is shown to have flexibility such that an actuator may be produced which can be used on both multi-point and single-point injection systems, despite there being a completely different requirement for performance and spray patterns. The simple design of the internal components makes for easy assembly and calibration operations, and the injector as a whole performs with a high level of reliability.
