ON-THE-MARK TRANSIT TRACK TESTING
A laboratory operated by Transit Products Division of L. B. Foster specializes in testing transit track systems and components. Procedures include static and dynamic loading, electrical resistance and conductivity measurement, and environmental testing. A major concern is the ability to measure the strength of direct-fixation rail fasteners. Procedures and test equipment continually evolve to meet the needs of changing transit technology. A major need, according to a spokesman, is for standardization of procedures used in different laboratories.
