THE TECHNOLOGY OF THE TRACK
The future of the railway lies in serving the potential demand in such a way that the inherent adventages of the railway are brought fully into play, i.e., mass transit in conurbations, long-distance and high-speed transport. New long-distance routes must therefore be laid out with smaller gradients and larger-radius curves.
