BTX (INTERACTIVE VIEWDATA) AS A SYSTEM FOR COMMUNICATION BETWEEN CUSTOMERS AND TRANSPORT ENTERPRISES
BILDSCHIRMTEXT ALS KOMMUNIKATIONSSYSTEM ZWISCHEN KUNDEN UND VERKEHRSUNTERNEHMEN
In June 1984 the postal authorities officially introduced the public BTX service throughout the Federal Republic. This new means of communication is based on the principle of using communications resources already possessed by most households (TV, telephone) in order to build up a large-scale public EDP system. For the first time it is now possible to bring information and services from different official sources into people's homes via their TV sets.
