VEHICLE OWNERSHIP AND THE PART OF THE CAR IN THE HOUSEHOLD BUDGET
AUTOBEZIT EN AANDEEL AUTO IN HUISHOUDBUDGET
The development of vehicle ownership is very important from the social point of view. The development of the vehicle ownership should not be promoted for itself, but for the big social, planological and economic consequences which are inherent to this development. The level of vehicle ownership and its development are a central issue in the traffic and transport sector. Different studies are made to estimate the modifications in vehicle ownership during the next decennium. This article contains the results of one of these studies: the budget approach. Social situations play also an important role in forecasts. Therefore the results are presented against the background of perceived developments and old prognoses in their relationship with the development in vehicle ownership. (TRRL)
