FURTHER EVALUATION OF ROADWAY LIGHTING USING THE VISUAL MODEL OF CIE 19/2
A detailed evaluation is presented of factors that affect target visibility, with contribution from the observer's headlights, effects of the target visibility as the roadway lighting geometry changes, and pavement luminance calculations and tables. Computer Aided Evaluation using CIE Model 19/2 gives a better understanding of IES RP-8, 1983 Appendix D, and provides more information for further evaluation of visibility. Variations in the contrast formula used in CIE Model 19/2 is also included in this study.
