TECHNICAL-ECONOMICAL GUIDELINES TO ROAD MAINTENANCE - MINOR ROADS WITH ASPHALT PAVEMENT

TEKNISK - OEKONOMISK STYRING AF VEJVEDLIGEHOLDELSE -MINDRE VEJE MED ASFALTBELAEGNING

A simplified model is described which can be used for the control of maintenance of minor roads with asphalt pavements. The aim is to enable the user of the model, as simply and clearly as possible, to reach a decision as to which kind of maintenance should be applied in a given situation, to secure the optimal use of the economic resources. The decision is reached on the basis of an evaluation of the technical state of the road, the subsequent maintenance demand and the alternative maintenance strategy of either continued repair or application of a new wearing course, based on a calculation of the total annual costs involved.
