STANDARD SYSTEM FOR FOLLOWING TRAIN MOVEMENT (SNST)
The standard system for following train movement (Systeme Normalise de Suivi des Trains-SNST) is the basic system on to which computer systems associated with signalling are built. The article describes the standard and modular system for following train movement on the SNCF and explains the principles on which it has been developed. It gives details of the different units which make up the SNST: train movement unit, dialogue unit, train movement display unit on the visual control panel (TCO), dialogue/train movement display unit with screen and traffic printout unit. Information is also provided on constraints in the use of this system and on its maximum capacity.
