MEETING TRANSPORTATION OBJECTIVES IN A LARGE REGION

The paper highlights the key highways policies set by Strathclyce Regional Council and reviews the extent to which programmes and practices are aligned with policies. Selective examples are chosen as being representative and the region's total capital and revenue budget performance is discussed. The paper concludes with a summary of problems and advantages of operating this service in a large authority. (Author/TRRL)
