THE DESIGN OF GRADIENTS FOR CYCLISTS
ONTWERPEN VAN HELLINGEN VOOR FIETSERS
Present recommendations on the design of gradients for cyclists date back to the forties and were based on rather subjective assumptions. Today's know-how on physiology and mechanics makes it possible to give a scientific base to design standards. As an example a table is given with all data of a 6 metre ramp using two different ways of detail. (Author/TRRL)
