STRUCTURAL BUCKLING AND VIBRATION ANALYSES ON MICROCOMPUTERS
Several different routines are described which are suitable for computing eigenvalues and eigenvectors of structural problems on microcomputers. The routines account for the banded nature of the stiffness, mass and stability matrices and use the sturm sequence property to isolate eigenvalues. The speed and accuracy for buckling and vibration analyses computed on both 8 and 16 bit microcomputers are compared with those produced on a minicomputer for several different types of structural problems.
