Reliability proactive control approach based on product key reliability characteristics in manufacturing process

Reliability assurance refers to a series of activities to ensure that the final product reliability meets the design specifications during the life cycle. However, most reliability assurance activities are concentrated in the design phase. The reliability of the finished product from the manufacturing process is often difficult to meet the requirements of the design reliability, and the reliability declines usually caused by the lack of proactive control in manufacturing process. Hence, the definition and evolution mechanism of product key reliability characteristic (KRC) is expounded, and a KRC-driven reliability proactive control strategy in manufacturing process is proposed. First, according to the reliability declining symptom in the product life cycle, the definition of the product KRC is presented, and their evolution framework are proposed based on axiomatic domain mapping and DNA helix structure. Second, the evolution model of the KRC association tree is constructed, and the importance of parameters in the KRC association tree is ranked using the association rule mining. Third, driven by the identified product KRC, a reliability proactive control approach for manufacturing process is proposed with exponentially weighted moving average control chart. Finally, the validity of the proposed approach is verified with a production example of subway collector.
