DRIVE TECHNOLOGY WITH TRACTION MOTORS WITHOUT COMMUTATOR-THE DECISION OF THE S.N.C.F. LOCOMOTIVE TYPE BB10004 WITH AUTOMATED SYNCHRONOUS MOTORS. APPLICATION OF SYNCHRONOUS TECHNOLOGY AT THE SNCF
ANTRIEBSTECHNIK MIT MOTOREN OHNE KOMMUTATOR-DIE WAHL DER SNCF. DIE LOKOMOTIVE BB 10004 MIT SELBSTEGEFUEHRTEN SYNCHRONMOTOREN-ANWENDUNG DER SYNCHRONTECHNIK BEI DER SNCF
Components of power electronics, modern insulation techniques and semiconductor cooling techniques are extensively used in electric tractive units of the S. N. C. F. The development of the drive techniques leads to the commutator-less three-phase current traction motor. The variant "asynchronous motor with voltage source converter a. c." is, despite certain disadvantages, of importance for dual current tractive units, One installation is actually being tested. The variant" asynchronous motor with current source converter a. c." is provided for locomotives of medium performance. The variant "synchronous motor with current source converter a.c." is especially suitable for the realization of high performance electric tractive units.
