COMPUTATION OF BRIDGE-DECKS WITH DUCTILE SECTIONS
CALCUL DES TABLIERS DE PONTS A SECTION DEFORMABLE
Many authors have mentioned in articles and technical works the non-negligible influence of buckling of bridge-decks under torsion-including loads. This question is considered from a different point of view in this study than is usual. This study illustrates a method of taking into account the ductility of a cross-section in the specific cases of a bridge-deck with two beams under the roadway and of a deck whose cross-section is formed by a unicellular caisson. In both cases, the mechanical and geometrical characteristics are said to be constant for the length of the span under consideration. This method of analysis can be extended to multi-beamed or multi-caisson bridge-deck structures.
