THE STRIPPING OF BINDER FROM AGGREGATE IN NEW SOUTH WALES
Stripping of binder from aggregate can occur in both bituminous sealing and plant mix works. This paper outlines the basic theory of adhesion of binder to aggregate and suggests means of controlling this using precoating and adhesion agents. The basic types of precoating and adhesion agents are discussed and guides for their application are also included. A number of proposals to prevent stripping are also presented. (Author/TRRL)
