BEARING CAPACITY OF SUBMERGED DUNE SAND
Laboratory investigations were conducted with model footings placed on a bed of submerged dune sand. The position of water table was varied from the ground surface to a depth equal to 3 times the width of footing. The bearing capacity of submerged dune sand reduced to a value of 25 per cent of that obtained on dry sand. (Author/TRRL)
