CONSTRUCTION OF "SAINT-MICHEL" STATION ON RER LINE B
The Paris Transport Authority (RATP) is building a new station on RER Line B at "Saint-Michel" where it connects with Line C. Space for the actual station was provided when the tunnels were boared so that all that remains to be done is to provide access to road level and passengerways to SNCF "Point Saint-Michel" station. On a site which is in a heavily built-up area, of major tourist interest and rich in archeological treasures, the work will be carried out using traditional and modern methods to ensure the stability of the structures already in use: SNCF station, RER and Metro lines and old buildings in poor repair, despite the particularly difficult geological and hydrogeological conditions in the immediate vicinity of the Seine.
