THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PARKING STANDARDS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORT
RELATIE PARKEERNORMEN-OPENBAAR VERVOER
Parking standards are among the instruments for the realization of a parking policy. If the available space in a city centre is limited ways must be found of allocating space to the various land-uses. The Hague keeps to the philosophy that locations with good public transport facilities in the neighbourhood should manage with lower parking standards than elsewhere. Therefore the public transport system has to be studied first, both within and outside the conurbation. The article gives some actual standards. (TRRL)
