RELIABILITY ANALYSES OF REINFORCED CONCRETE AND COMPOSITE COLUMN SECTIONS

This paper presents reliability analyses of reinforced concrete and composite (cased) column sections designed to as 1480-1970 and as 1250-1981 respectively. Estimates of various components of variability are given based on available experimental data. The results show that the safety index for reinforced concrete column sections varies from 3.5 to 6.5 while that for cased column sections varies from 4.5 to 6.0. A revised column section formula applicable to both cases is suggested. The number of the covering abstract for the conference is TRIS no 394142. (Author/TRRL)
