Specifications for the layout of signalized junctions outside built-up areas are presented. Attention is given to the specific traffic characteristics at such junctions such as high speed, high main flow densities combined with low densities on the crossing road and in general the level of attention of the drivers. The layout of a junction to be controlled in relation to the method of control is taken into account. (TRRL)
