LABORATORY TESTS FOR ASSESSMENTS OF CRUSHED STEEL SLAGS AND OF BLAST FURNACE SLAGS AS ROADBUILDING MATERIALS

ETUDE EN LABORATOIRE DES POSSIBILITES DE VALORISATION DES SCORIES D'ACIERIES ET DES LAITIERS DE HAUT FOURNEAU EN CONSTRUCTION ROUTIERE

An accelerated laboratory test is presented for assessment of slags for their lime contents and crushing resistance for the purpose of using them as road building materials. These are by products of ironworks both as fine and large gram materials. Resutls of 20 representative samples are given and evaluated. Some materials are subject to swelling and disintegration and as such not suitable for use.
