THE AUTHOR DESCRIBES ANALYSES OF, AND RESULTS OBTAINED FROM TWO 1972 SURVEYS OF PERSON AND VEHICLE MOVEMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH FIFTEEN OFFICE BLOCKS IN CENTRAL LONDON; LOCATED IN THE CITY, WESTMINSTER, CAMDEN AND SOUTHWARK. DATA ARE PRESENTED TO ENABLE AN ASSESSMENT TO BE MADE OF THE TRANSPORT AND TRAFFIC IMPLICATIONS OF THE DEVELOPMENT PROPOSALS. INFORMATION IS INCLUDED ON PERSON AND VEHICLE MOVEMENTS (BOTH IN TOTAL AND BY TIME OF DAY), MODAL SPLITS BY DIFFERENT TYPES OF JOURNEYS, THE USE OF CAR PARKING FACILITIES AND THE DISTRIBUTION OF RESIDENCE.
