Cause analysis of rail corrugation in metro circular curve and transition curve sections
Rail corrugation is a kind of periodic wear on the rail running surface. For metro lines, the corrugation phenomenon of small radius curve section is more common, and the corrugation wavelength is mainly concentrated in the range of 20 ~ 100 mm, which belongs to the short-pitch corrugation [1,2]. When the vehicle passes through the short-pitch corrugation section, it will cause the abnormal vibration and noise of wheel-rail system, aggravate the fatigue damage of vehicle and track components, and have adverse effects on the comfort of train operation and the surrounding living environment. The problem of rail corrugation has been one of the research hotspots in the railway industry since it was discovered in 1895. How to effectively prevent and control rail corrugation has become an urgent issue to be solved by railway departments in various countries. Therefore, it is particularly important to explore the causes of rail corrugation.
