THE RANDBURG/SANDTON BUS DEMONSTRATION PROJECT: ADVERTISING, PROMOTION AND SALES
An important part of the project was to experiment with innovative means of advertising, promoting and selling the service. The techniques used are described. Because the project was a "package" incorporating substantially new services, it was not possible to draw firm conclusions about the effects of this activity in generating ridership. Even so, some interesting changes were observed which suggest a relationship between the promotional activity and the number of passengers carried. See also IRRD 282104 for the monitoring report of the Randburg/Sandton bus demonstration project.
