Transport of Persons and Spatial Planning is a textbook written for the purpose of helping to solve problems with regard to the movement of persons. It gives an insight into the methods and means that were put into practice in the process of spatial planning in the Netherlands. The book contains three parts. In Part I, the central question is put. The connection of the transport of persons is explained and the relation with the location pattern of establishments. Distinction is made between movement of persons (transport) and movement of means of transport (traffic). Special attention is given to the ideas of mobility and accessibility. Part II deals with the history of the development in the Netherlands in spatial planning with respect to transport of persons since 1900. Part III offers a start for future working methods. (TRRL)
