THE BIOMECHANICS OF IMPACT TRAUMA

This book contains proceedings relating to a course given on the biomechanics of impact trauma at the International Center for Transportation Studies (ICTS), Amalfi, Italy, May 30-June 4, 1983. Topics covered include the following: Basic data on accidents, injuries and biomechanics; head and neck injuries; injuries to the spine, the thorax and the upper abdomen; injuries to the lower abdomen and the pelvis; injuries to the limbs; injuries to the face; consequences for design; and consequences for regulation. A final paper presents a synthesis of the study week.
