The report presents a study on Interruptions of the Driving and Traffic Operation on Expressways. Interruptions in driving and traffic operation on expressways reduce their capacity and thus especially impair the long-distance traffic. The objective of the study was to determine the extent of such interruptions, diifferentiated according to cause, to quantify their consequences, and using this as a base, to elaborate suggestions for the avoidance of interruptions.
