BASES FOR THE DESIGN OF GRADIENTS FOR BICYCLE TRAFFIC
GRONDSLAGEN VOOR HET ONTWERPEN VAN HELLINGEN TEN BEHOEVE VAN HET FIETSVERKEER
Specifications which exist for the design of gradients for cyclists date from the forties and are based on rather subjective assumptions. Today's knowledge of physiology and mechanics makes it possible to give a scientific base to the design standards. In this report particular emphasis is laid on the gradient in a cycle track. Behaviour models of the speed of cyclists on gradients are factors for determining further details. (TRRL)
