REPORT OF AN EXPERIMENT IN REGIONALIZATION OF TRAFFIC SAFETY
RAPPORT PROEFNEMING REGIONALISATIE VERKEERSVEILIGHEID
In the Dutch provinces friesland and drenthe, and later on also in noord-brabant, an experiment was made into the regionalization of traffic safety. Regionalization is not a decentralisation or a deconcentration but a means for a more active role of the existing possibilities and competences in the field of traffic safety in a particular region. The cooperation and the funtioning of the different regional authorities are taken into account. It is concluded that regionalization is a good instrument and it is proposed to continue the regionalization of traffic safety and to expand it to the other provinces where possible. The task and the role of the regional traffic safety group is discussed. (TRRL)
