SIXTH ANNUAL REPORT TO CONGRESS ON THE AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
DOE's transportation energy program are focused on R and D of energy efficient technologies that are unlikely to be undertaken by the private sector alone. Prior government-sponsored R and D programs identified the gas turbine and Stirling engines are development candidates. These engines are the focus of the Automotive Technology Development Program described in this report. Other areas of concentrated R and D are heavy-duty transport technology and advanced materials development.
