OFFTRACKING CONSIDERATIONS FOR TRUCK TRACTOR-TRAILER COMBINATIONS
In preparation of "A Policy on Geometric Design of highways and Streets", intersection designs involved the WB-40 semitrailer combination and the WB-50. After the majority of the "Policy" had been written, other tractor trailer combinations have been introduced. Examples include double 27's double 40's, triples, etc. The introduction of different combinations necessitated the need to look more closely at offtracking. The first part of this report includes a summary of major considerations. The appendix includes a more detailed description of various areas of offtracking. (Author)
