The 8th IAVSD symposium on the Dynamics of Vehicles on Roads and Tracks was held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA on August 15-19, 1983. The theme of the symposium was mathematical modelling of vehicle/track or road interactions. An increasing emphasis in this symposium was the experimental validation of theoretical models indicating the maturity of the general field of vehicle dynamics.
