VERTICAL CURVES FOR HIGHWAYS

This publication gives a rational conception of the principles governing the design of vertical curves on roads. Giving an introduction to the purpose and types of vertical curves, practical design of vertical curves has been discussed with examples. Gradient, design speed and sight distance on roads in various terrain conditions are considered and lengths of vertical curves are calculated. (TRRL)
