GUIDELINES ON THE CHOICE AND PLANNING OF APPROPRIATE TECHNOLOGY IN ROAD CONSTRUCTION
This publication provides guidelines for the choice of appropriate construction methods under different situations and discusses the ways and means for improving the efficiency and productivity of these methods. A large number of worked examples have been included for assisting the site engineers in this regard. The contents include : site planning, consideration in the choice of appropriate construction method; guidelines on planning and organisation of labour-based methods; guidelines on planning and organisation of equipment-based methods; and cost calculations.
